Visa Questions?

All travelers to the United States are required to have a visa
-- unless they qualify for The Visa Waiver Program (see below).
Visas should be applied for well in advance of your homestay/study session.

Students should apply as a "visitor for pleasure" for The Learning Park homestay program. The "visitor" visa is a nonimmigrant visa (B-2) for persons desiring to enter the United States temporarily for pleasure.

To qualify for a visitor visa, you must show the following:
  • The purpose of your trip is for pleasure;
  • You plan to stay for a specific, limited period of time;
  • You have strong social and economic connections outside the United States; and
  • You will return abroad at the end of your visit.
For more information to apply for a B-2 Visitor Visa click here: Apply For B-2 Visa.
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables citizens of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism for 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. Not all countries participate in the VWP. Some restrictions apply to this program.

IMPORTANT! All countries are required to have machine-readable passports to enter the U.S on the visa waiver program.

To enter the U.S. under the VWP, travelers from participating countries must:

  • Be a citizen of a Visa Waiver Program country;
  • Have a valid passport issued by the participating country that is valid for six months beyond your intended visit;
  • Have a machine-readable passport (MRP);
  • Be seeking entry for 90 days or less, as a temporary visitor for business or pleasure.

You will not be permitted to extend your visit or change to another visa category under the VWP.
